In a recent press conference U.N. head Ban Ki-moon motioned for continued support for Millenium Development goals in the face of today's global economic challenges.

He beckoned for nations to pursue the fulfillment of Millenium goals to stem 'extreme poverty' significantly by the projected year 2015.

The U.N. Secretary's timely announcement comes at a time when continuing developments in Pakistan to assist millions of people displaced by disastrous flooding, who are experiencing starvation, have been met with delays and persistent unrest in the region.

Secretary Ban says that such efforts to provide relief must come from a 'solidarity' of international actions in order to meet the Millenium goals.
